About

What ties together my engineering, product, design, and creative work.

02

Who I Am

I'm a software engineer who cares about the end product, not just the code.

I've spent most of my career building mobile and interactive products. But I care about more than implementation. I care about interfaces, interactions, visual details, and the overall quality of a product.

That's led me to work across engineering, design, and product development.

How I Got Here

It took me a while to find my way to mobile.

I started by studying computer engineering. I was especially interested in human-computer interaction and interactive systems. At university, I worked on visual querying and data visualisation. I also spent a year in France studying human-machine interaction and usability engineering.

My first professional work involved touch interfaces and mobile software. I then moved into AR and wearable computing, followed by native iOS development and, later, Flutter.

Since 2023, I've been working independently. I build and publish my own products alongside selected professional work.

Design + Engineering

I like the space between design and engineering.

I've never felt comfortable treating design and development as separate fields. A design has to work in real software, and technical choices shape how a product feels to use.

I enjoy working on both sides: turning visual ideas into interfaces, thinking through interactions, making practical product decisions, and building systems to support the result.

I'm not a UX researcher, and I don't use a formal research method. My strength is in turning product ideas into interfaces, and interfaces into working software.

Making Independently

I also build things for myself.

Since going independent, I've been able to take ideas from a vague first thought all the way to a published product.

I've designed, built, released, and maintained apps for mobile and desktop. They include colour tools, productivity utilities, games, and visual experiments.

Building products on my own has taught me a different kind of ownership. There's no other team to handle the parts you don't know how to solve. You have to make the product decisions, build it, ship it, listen, fix it, and keep going.

Beyond Software

And then there's everything that doesn't involve a screen.

I paint and draw, mostly in watercolour, and create illustrations. It's a very different way to make things: slower, physical, and less forgiving.

I like having something that doesn't compile, doesn't need a release, and can't be fixed with another commit.
